THREE RHAPSODIES ONE WORLD

Where emotion becomes music and music becomes journey.

The rhapsody has always been a place where music breathes freely. It invites the piano to move from quiet reflection to bold expression, carried by instinct rather than rule. Three Rhapsodies One World brings this freedom to the stage in a concert that unites three worlds of musical expression. Western classical tradition, American jazz and the emerging voice of the Emirates meet through the piano, creating a journey shaped by colour, emotion and imagination.

Across two evenings, audiences will hear two remarkable soloists, each revealing a different side of the rhapsodic form. The first performs Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, a dazzling exploration of variation and romantic feeling. Its shifts from playful brilliance to tender lyricism make it one of the most loved works in the piano repertoire.

Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue follows with its unmistakable jazz-infused energy. Its blend of classical structure and improvisational spirit captures the sound of modern America, alive with movement and possibility. From the iconic opening clarinet line to the powerful finale, it remains a symbol of musical freedom.

The second soloist presents the world premiere of Emirati Rhapsody, an original work for piano and orchestra. Inspired by Emirati rhythms, landscapes and melodies, this new commission reflects the desert, the sea and the creative pulse of modern Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It marks an important step in shaping a new chapter of orchestral piano music rooted in the Emirates.

Three Rhapsodies One World is a celebration of expressive freedom and cultural connection. It honours tradition while opening the door to new musical horizons, inviting audiences to experience the piano as storyteller, explorer and guide.
